PSC Winter Magazine

Thankfully, we have all survived yet another busy season. The “pay and file” deadline was challenging as always. However, with the excellent commitment given by all our staff over the past number of months, we have managed to meet the deadline in all but a small number of cases.

This edition includes an article by Francis Moriarty on the main business tax provisions of this year’s Budget/Finance Bill.

Our annual Budget Breakfast Briefing in Ballygarry House immediately after the Budget was very well attended and gave a detailed summary of all the provisions. Everyone is a little better off following the Budget, notably with the reduction in the USC rates. The Help-To-Buy scheme was the main headline of the Budget speech. This measure featured extensively in our Autumn 2016 edition of this newsletter.

The Christmas season will be upon us very quickly. For most of us, this means that our business year – end will also be approaching. Hopefully, you will have seen steady improvements over the course of 2016. Let’s hope that these trends will continue into 2017 and that the effects of Brexit will not be as adverse as is feared.

As always, the team at Peevers Slye Cotter are here at hand to answer any queries or concerns you have.

We hope you find the contents of this newsletter of interest and benefit to you and would appreciate any feedback you may have.
